Microsoft has announced a fitness app for their Next Gen console called Xbox Fitness. It is a subscription based app that allows you to interact with popular fitness videos via the new Kinect sensor. The videos will feature popular trainers Jillian Michaels, Shaun T, Tony Horton and Tracy Anderson. The app will be able to “read your heart rate without a monitor, see which muscles are most engaged by measuring the power, force, and transfer of weight in your body, and track the quality of your performance by measuring your balance, tempo and form,” all thanks to the Kinect, no physical accessories required. Impressive!
You can also compare scores and challenge your friends to beat your performances through Xbox Live. The Xbox Fitness app launches this fall season and will be free for Xbox Live Gold members until November 2014. Starting in January 2015 unlimited access requires a Paid Xbox Fitness subscription as well as Xbox Live Gold. Peep the trailer below.
