With Microsoft running their own Games for Windows Live marketplace in the digital distribution spectrum on PC, it should come as somewhat of a surprise to hear that they will be releasing a classic title of theirs remade in HD, but exclusively for Steam.
However, it actually makes total sense to me as a long-time fan of the Real Time Strategy franchise that, along with Command & Conquer and StarCraft, helped define the golden age of RTS. If you are a fan of RTS and haven’t played AOE (Age of Empires) then I implore you to keep an eye on this title release of Age of Empires II in HD releasing for Steam only April 9, 2013 and including “The Conquerers” expansion pack bundled with it.
