Although you may not have seen nor heard anything about the upcoming next generation DICE game Battlefield 4 at Sony’s recent PlayStation 4 reveal event, it was incognito. Developers hosted private, behind-the-booth proceedings with select individuals who were reportedly seen and/or given a demonstration of the cinematics and gameplay the title has to offer.
Fans of the series who can’t stand waiting need not fret as we already have confirmation from a RealGamerNewz gamer who uses the new 4K (Quadruple High Definition) format on Battlefield 3 and is able to see lifelike war experiences via upscaling and says the technology will become available soon for reasonable cost. The game upscaled beyond 1080p is said to look incredible on consoles reaching a resolution of upwards 4000p.
PlayStation 4 will utilize this very same format and Battlefield 4 will be in a higher native resolution than previously possible on console games thanks to the 4K format and the power/ram of the new PS4. It should be exciting to finally see what has traditionally been a “best on PC” title to finally bridge the gap in realism without sacrificing performance.
