Other players won’t be your only enemy in Fear The Wolves, which comes to Steam Early Access on July 18, 2018. Set in Chernobyl in an aftermath situation derived from the real life disaster that took place in the Ukraine during 1986 (my birth year, by coincidence) widely regarded as the worst Nuclear accident on the planet (Fukushima might have outdone Chernobyl now though). Adding PvE elements to the battle royale genre and replacing walls with radiation, this game is looking to add its own twist to the largely successful formula many others have failed to penetrate.

If you were one of the early purchasers of the wilderness survival game show take on the battle royale genre from Scavengers Studio then you will receive a Founder’s Pack the next time you log in. For those who haven’t tried the game yet, our hands-on impressions of the 1.8.3 version were mostly positive, so don’t be scared to try the new 1.12 version out. The fact that the game will now be available to a wider audience should also help its reach and keep matchmaking smooth. As with all battle royale games it will take a lot of players queuing up to ensure that each match is full and starts up fast.

From Landfall Games, the team behind physics platformer Clustertruck, local multiplayer fighter / party game Square Brawl, and their currently in development combat simulation title Totally Accurate Battle Simulator comes their extremely comical take on the ever saturated battle royale genre, Totally Accurate Battlegrounds. This is a title the team at Landfall developed as a late April Fool’s joke to help bridge the gap during the development of Totally Accurate Battle Simulator and allow them some time to take a break from active development on TABS.
