Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris Announced for Next-Gen Platforms, Details and Gameplay Within

Lara

Square Enix recently announced the sequel to the award winning Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light from developer, Crystal Dynamics. Scot Amos, Executive Producer for Crystal Dynamics offers up some details on the game set for a PS4, Xbox One and PC.

“The story takes place in the forsaken Temple of Osiris, long hidden, deep in the deserts of Egypt. Lara Croft arrives at the mysterious temple, only to discover her new rival, Carter Bell, is also seeking the legendary Staff of Osiris – an instrument of power over life and death. When Carter removes the mythical Staff from its resting place he triggers a trap that curses them both and unleashes the evil god Set, brother to Osiris, and usurper of his kingdom. However, the reclaimed staff also awakens the gods Horus and Isis, the son and wife of Osiris. Free from their ancient prison, these gods offer to repay Lara and Carter by joining forces in order to remove their curse and stop Set. You’ll play as Lara, Carter, Isis, or Horus as you fight your way across lethal sands and through deadly tombs battling to resurrect Osiris and fulfill his prophecy by defeating Set.”

While its predecessor featured 2 player cooperative play, Temple of Osiris will include 4 player co-op for the very first time in a Lara Croft title.

“This is a unique opportunity to cooperate with or compete against your friends in drop-in and drop-out co-op to earn bigger rewards, better treasures, and more powerful artifacts to boost your character. But how you play is up to you. Will you share the wealth, or will you sacrifice your friends for more loot and a higher score? The entire campaign is multiplayer and single-player since we know lots of fans will want to tackle Lara’s all-new adventure solo,” Amos explains.

Sony Bravia Smart Stick Will Compete w/ Google Chromecast

Sony Bravia Smart Stick

If you’re a Film / TV show fanatic that prefers cheap streaming services over the heavily over-priced cable services out there, the Google Chromecast probably caught your attention when it released recently. Sony aims to compete with their own little plug-and-play device called the Sony Bravia Smart Stick. The concept behind both devices is that you 1) plug either into the HDMI port of your television set, 2) use any wireless device such as smartphones to pick what you want to watch on YouTube, Netflix, Google Play, etc., 3) sit back and watch on the TV. Hulu is also working on bringing support for their Hulu+ streaming service to the device as well. The main interest in the Chromecast was that it only costed $35 though, if Sony plans on charging anything more they better have a lot more features for their Bravia Smart Stick. The good thing is we will find out soon enough tech junkies! Sony is expected to reveal the device in full today and deliver even more details as the week goes forward.

Every Call of Duty Ghosts Multiplayer Gameplay Video + Detail In ONE Place

COD Ghosts Xbox ONE Preview RealGamerNewz Presents

Many people have kept on asking over and over again, “When are they going to change Call of Duty?” and while these changes may not be embraced by all universally, they are truly here. With Black Ops I and Black Ops II beginning to pave the way for a more balanced and polished experience, Infinity Ward has stepped up to deliver a completely refreshed, rebooted experience with Call of Duty: Ghosts. And we weren’t always fans of this game, don’t believe me? Just watch this video about how we called out MW3 when the rest of the media was saying it would change, and we were right, it never changed anything.

Call of Duty: Ghosts for Xbox ONE (and various other platforms) was revealed today in the multiplayer gameplay perspective. While many details and videos have been revealed for this title, which will see its DLC released first on Xbox ONE, you can find them all right here in one place. CLICK HERE if you haven’t made it to the Livestream yet which is exclusive on RealGamerNewz.com and scroll to the bottom for the Gameplay Videos that were revealed by Activision immediately after the stream concluded (all in one video).

  • Xbox 360 gameplay profiles will cross over to Xbox ONE. If you grab the game early on current-gen and/or are unable to get the next-gen console, you’ll be able to build your profile while waiting! This includes unlockables, classes, and more.
  • Ghosts introduces 30 new weapons including a new weapons class: Marksman rifles for those of us not exactly amazing at the sniper rifle but a decent enough aim to go beyond the assault rifle.
  • Balancing issues are solved by giving a budget for all of your items, similar to Black Ops II. No more infinitely unbalanced load-outs like Modern Warfare 1, 2, and 3 had. This is a more advanced system than BLOPS 2 though, each perk has weighted value and will take up a different amount of your budget.
  • New Perks Including: Juggernaut Maniac, Helio Scout, Vulture, Odin Strike, Riley the Guard Dog.
  • Jump roof to roof, mantle over objects, knee slide while sprinting, or crouching to prone, contextual leaning, are some of the new gameplay features that make movement more smooth.
  • ADSR-based Reverb System, Detailed Battle Chatter so you know exactly what’s going on even if the player doesn’t have a mic on, and Tactical Audio Design including Reactive Emitters.
  • Unlock the game’s many weapons and perks in any order you want.
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts introduces Cranked; a variant of TDM that grants faster movement, reload, and more for each kill you get within a timer (or risk exploding).
  • Search and Rescue which is like Search and Destroy but allows you to be revived or eliminated based on whether an enemy or ally grabs your dog tags.
  • Squads Game Mode sees you competing against other players’ squads which you have built. Put each of your ‘living loadouts’ to the test. This can be done co-op, single player, or multiplayer. Progress counts towards Multiplayer.
  • More of the other 7 new gameplay modes include: Octane, Infected, and more.
  • 20 new Killstreaks. More ground-based, in your face Killstreaks and less air-based, unbalanced ones. No More Deathstreaks, Objectives and Kills ONLY will be rewarded.
  • Hide your UAV, because now it’s ground-based and enemies can wipe it out if they find it. No more nearly unstoppable radar pings.
  • New Wave-Based 4 Player Co-Op Mode: “Safeguard” based on “Survival” from MW3.
  • Other Co-Op Modes: “Squads” including “Squad Vs Squad”, “Wargame”, “Squad Assault”.
  • Character customization includes over 20,000 possible combinations and for the first time ever Female Soldiers are in the game! I know a lot of woman gamers who will be excited for this.
  • Dynamic map changes beyond what is seen in currently “destructible” environment games were revealed. Examples include entire gas stations exploding.
  • Prestige no longer resets all of your weapons, the entire system has been overhauled. You now have 10 characters in a “squad” and will be able to reach 10 levels of prestige by ‘prestiging’ each one once.
  • Call of Duty ELITE Accounts on Tablet, Mobile, Web, consoles, and more. Mobile App allows deeper clan experience, and mobile meta-gameplay “Clan Wars” game.
  • Local Multiplayer is still supported.
  • Robust Clan Support including Clan Chat, Rally Up, all from mobile, console, or web.
  • Touch-based Emblem Editor for Clans.
  • Level up your clan in more ways than one. Any MP match you play with your clan levels up your Clan.
  • There are now Clan VS Clan playlists.
  • Each time your clan levels up there’s new unlockables.
  • Each time you get the first kill in a match, and retrieve the ‘Field Order’ briefcase from the person you killed, you’ll get a side-objective such as humiliating your opponents. If you can achieve it without dying you’ll be rewarded with a care package capable of giving you the edge, if you don’t pull it off somebody else can get the Field Order from your dead body and try to.
  • 60 Frames Per Second Graphics are still in the house on current gen systems.
  • Dual Render technology allows you to aim down the sights but still have peripheral vision to some extent.
  • Riley the guard dog will be in Multiplayer, not just single player. This companion character allows you to scout out and even attack other players remotely. He will also alert you of nearby enemies when you have him near you. (This is a Perk, not just all over the place for anyone at any time).

BioShock Infinite DLC to be Revealed Tuesday

BioShock Infinite DLC

**UPDATE** Ken Levine has made further tweets suggesting the actual news for BioShock Infinite DLC will be revealed Tuesday at 8AM NYC Time. Take a look below and see for yourself:

Today’s BioShock Infinite DLC announcement is being heavily anticipated by gamers worldwide as Irrational Games’ Ken Levine has tweeted that he is excited for this day July 29, 2013 in which it is widely expected that the developer will release their first piece of information about the game. Gamers have been waiting about 4 months for some sort of details about the game, and while there has been some controversy surrounding whether or not the Season Pass should have actually been up for sale with such a long wait in front of gamers, everyone wants to know what Levine has up his sleeve.

The cold hard fact of the matter is that this will be the first of 3 DLC’s to release for public consumption and Season Pass holders to download. The DLC is said, by Irrational Games, to be story-based and expand on the plot of the BioShock Infinite tale which has received critical praise and even underground acclaim from virtually all who have played it. There is a running rumor which surfaced after an alleged resume leak that this DLC pack may potentially see an Artificial Intelligence character added to the mix whom plays alongside the player’s character, though this has not yet been confirmed nor denied by the team behind BioShock Infinite.

It is also stated on online marketplaces Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and Steam where the BioShock Infinite Season Pass is being sold that all 3 DLC packs will be released before March of 2014 (which will mark one full year since the original game’s release). With this all in mind, it seems Irrational is right on schedule, though some gamers may not agree. What are your thoughts, have they taken too long for your liking or do you appreciate a company that finally works on DLC post-release rather than splitting up pieces of the game they actually made during development of the main project? Let us know in the comments!

Secret Xbox Reveal July 7th

Xbox ONE Box

Coming July 7, 2013 Microsoft Press will be revealing some quote on quote “HUGE and SECRET” news about an Xbox ONE project. Coincidentally enough, it ties in with Bungie day (July 7th) which he actually hash-tags in his tweets. From what we know from his tweets, this isn’t a game reveal but something to do with the Xbox ONE that also ties in with Bungie.  He’s already written 2500+ words and his article is locked on this secret project for the Xbox ONE, so expect some major news on July 7, 2013 regarding Xbox ONE.

Editor’s Note: It is likely that Bungie is sticking to their original design plans of having exclusive Destiny add-on content for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox ONE therefore creating slightly different experiences depending which console is your most played. July 7, 2013 will be the date we will know for sure what they have in store for Xbox gamers next-gen.
