@SquareEnix Issues Public #FinalFantasy Survey, FAN RESPONSES ARE IN!!!

Square Enix Issues Public Final Fantasy Survey For Fans

Don’t get your hopes up though, this is a short and sweet, seemingly mobile-centric Final Fantasy survey which is over before you know it and does not provide a space for open feedback. Users took to the Square Enix Facebook page to request a number of features and provide points of feedback including the following fan quotes below.

Fan Requests / Feedback Being Made:

  1. Final Fantasy Remakes of all Shapes, Colors, and Sizes (Mostly Debates over FF VII).
  2. “Less phone games by Square.”
  3. “You’ll notice that FF: Tactics was nowhere in that list for the last game you’ve played. Which sucks, because that’s the only one I play regularly.”
  4. “This list needs Final Fantasy Tactics. Shame it’s not there… Hopefully this feedback helps and oh… Down with mobile games!”
  5. “Damn, I was hoping to give Feed back like The new installments from X to the 13’s are Failing I Liked the old school Final fantasy With world map pilot-able Airship and Class system.”
  6. “I’d like to tell them. After the merger to squeenix. It’s been a downhill spiral.”
  7. “Now, release Final Fantasy VI for Steam and consider a Final Fantasy IX port please.”
  8. “Bury 7 so people stop asking for a remake.”
  9. “Final fantasy helped me get through My childhood”
  10. “Super Mario RPG, Dragon Warrior/Quest and Sa.Ga (Final Fantasy Adventure trilogy) on the Nintendo Virtual Console.”
  11. “I’d like to see a real open world Final Fantasy title, though I hear XV will be that. I’m kind of tied between JRPG and WRPG as my favorite genre.”
  12. “It didn’t ask for any kind of rating or opinion of our purchase… except for mobile games. 🙁 “
  13. “I hope to see this surveys more often!! You can get a lot of feedback or very important information!”
  14. “Any freebies for completing the survey? Lol.”
  15. “SE is doing so badly because They broke away from what Fans loved And believe Me I Have talked to many Fans.”

Give Your Feedback HERE (via SE)

These are the most well represented opinions to be found, but Square Enix will be receiving hundreds to possibly thousands of pieces of feedback to this particular survey and the overwhelming theme remains the same for a lot of that feedback. Fans want to see the OLD style of Final Fantasy return, not JUST in remakes but also in the form of new games made in the classic style. It’s high time Square Enix deliver on these fan requests in a way that can please this demographic of gamers who are losing hope on a franchise that has been a staple of many people’s lives for decades.

Sony’s Upcoming H1Z1 Gets Mixed Beta Feedback, Is It Pay To Win?

H1Z1 Sony Pay To Win Steam PS4 RealGamerNewz

Named Most Anticipated Survival Game of 2015 by GameHaunt, Sony’s got a lot vested in H1Z1. They’ve grabbed a proven formula fresh off of ArmA II’s DayZ Mod (and subsequent title DayZ Standalone) and have manufactured their own flavor of said formula. With the promise of seeing a new twist on the zombie survival genre, Sony Online Entertainment has gained the attention of gamers worldwide.

Hz1Z will be released for PlayStation 4 “eventually” (most assume this year) and is currently available for Windows PC through the wildly popular Steam platform, but on their Early Access section meaning that this is simply a Beta and not final product. It would be easy to say “this game is getting bad reviews,” or “the computer version has mixed reviews so far,” but this would be fundamentally irresponsible as this is an Early Access release.

However, that being said, mixed Beta Feedback is what we can confidently say is being presented by the Steam community of PC gamers who have given it a shot in the 2 days that H1Z1 has been open to Early Access users for $19.99 – $39.99 of kick-in. The final product will be made available Free-To-Play on PlayStation 4 and Steam, which actually brings us to the meat of this topic.

Sony had claimed early on that they were aiming to make H1Z1 fair, fun, and balanced for all players – regardless of their pay-in level or if they were just playing completely for free. In short, they promised not to break the game for profit’s sake through a Pay-To-Win formula, while at the same time criticizing some games that did so in the genre. Since the particular game they chose to model H1Z1 after began as a free mod, it is pretty obvious that in-app purchases are going to be hard for PC gamers to tolerate if not placed in the game gracefully by Sony Online Entertainment.

H1Z1 RealGamerNewz PS4 Free To Play

Hopefully Sony is still open to feedback, Steam users are speaking right now about the current Early Access release – and most of them are not happy. Here are a few of the key points touched on by Steam Reviews:

  • “Pay to win // Air drops containt weapons, ammo and back packs which they said they wouldn’t do”
  • 957 of 1,069 people (90%) found this review helpful

Then there’s the case in which a Steam Review actually paraphrases Sony Online Entertainment’s quote:

“We will NOT be selling Guns, Ammo, Food, Water… i.e. That’s kind of the whole game and it would suck in our opinion if we did that.”

Only to also quote their later backtrack and going back on their word, doing exactly what they said they would not:

“We have made the decision to allow paid for airdrops into the game with things like guns and other things being randomly selected as part of the airdrop. We’re making them highly contested and building a whole set of rules around this, but you should be aware that our goal is to make this a way to keep things interesting on the servers but still be contested. If these offend your sensibilities just know that they are going to be there. We have gone out of our way to make sure the airdrops are contested in-game and that you can’t simply expect to easily walk about to the airdrop and grab it. Even if you paid for it. “

H1Z1 Early Access Steam

Based on these two Reviews alone, and the amount of people who have expressed agreement with them, it seems Sony Online Entertainment has upset their fans and left them feeling like they were lied to. Was this false advertising? Do you feel this is enough evidence to say the game is really Pay-To-Win?

Update: H1Z1 refunds being offered by SOE for limited time

Online Critics: To Respond Or To Ignore? Devs Need To Learn Something…

Do Not Feed the Trolls

There’s a difference between “caring about the fans” and engaging in childish, all out war with them on social networks like Twitter. Sometimes people end up promoting what they disagree with when in reality they should have just not responded at all. Not to mention, if you fail to get your point across you just may wind up with a backfire effect causing you to look like the ignorant one. In many cases, game developers try to use their popularity, critical acclaim, and of course financial backing to hush up people who may not even be well known but are just trolling for the sake of it. Sometimes these people are trolling you knowing that you are an unstable person and at any moment could snap and make yourself look like a fool in public.

Preying constantly on your demise, these people can be dealt with by your legal team if they cross the boundary and begin to do things like threaten you. And if you just can’t take the personal attacks from non-threatening, criticizing fans of your games; hire somebody else to run your social accounts because it’s not going to stop. Just a brief word of advice, if you can’t take the heat get out of the kitchen. There’s no sense continuing to detriment your mental health by allowing people to barrage you if it effects you in such a negative way. You can either take Cliffy B’s recent advice to Phil Fish which is basically to man up and use the energy to fuel your projects forward, or you can just take my advice and let somebody else take over your social presence. Of course there is the third option which many Japanese developers seem to understand, which is to just not have a social presence at all. You are paid to make video games not express opinions and be a figurehead who feels the need to police the internet of every single trolling post you find out there.

For an industry that is struggling to gain recognition as art still, and therefore be awarded full freedom of speech rights by the planet’s government systems, game companies sure do try to silence the haters a lot. All these haters are doing is promoting you though. Just because somebody reads something negative about you doesn’t mean they agree with it. Even if they don’t speak out to defend you, they may completely disagree with the hateful comment and instead check out your product and become a fan. Ride the wave instead of trying to stop it and becoming swept up in the current looking yourself like a negative commentator that the silent majority do not agree with. And one other thing, the vocal minority of your “fans” which seem to be always nit-picking in forums and offering their own grand design ideas should not ALWAYS be listened to. Forum jockeys are the reason why Warhawk’s perfect damage balance became trash after community-influenced updates and the same reason why Starhawk was created and released to a very uncaring community who turned their back on the game that was created almost entirely based on fan feedback.

Learn something from this game developers, I’m begging you. Make your own game ideas, and screw what the haters think; even if that hater is sometimes me.

Attention RGN Community

RGN Community

‘Ello everybody! Pwnagraphic here. Of course you knew that because the it says “By Pwnagraphic”. Dur..

Allow me to start off by giving a big thanks to the RGN crew for accepting me as one of them. I really appreciate these guys taking me in and allowing me to help support and develop this site and community. I look forward to bringing everyone news, entertainment, and pure sexiness to this website. Now, that said.

I have also been seeing a lot of the fun and exciting things we have going on behind the scenes that I am sure a lot of you are really going to enjoy. Not that they told me, but more that I spied on them in their Skype meeting under another, totally not obvious, incognito alias of “Notpwnagraphic”. They were not wise to my act and I found out a lot of information. Of course I can’t divulge that to you just yet, but you will enjoy what we have in store for you here. So that brings me to this.

I want to ask you, the community, what you would like to see out of this website? Is there something you like to see more of?  Less of?

Perhaps you have some ideas of your own that’ll help improve the site and make RGN your go to site for news.

As I said before. We have a lot of stuff we’re cookin’ up, and it’s going to taste good. Of course this takes time and resources, and with everything really coming together we hope to have the ball rolling on them real soon.

Well, peeps. I am signing off for now. Please, feel free to leave any feedback in the comments below. Except you. I don’t like you. You know who you are.

Victory is a World War II strategy game being developed by Petroglyph. Early backers of their kickstarter program, which can be found here, will be able to not only play the game early but also become early testers for Petroglyph helping to shape the game’s mechanics as their feedback is factored into the design. Need more convincing? Check out the comments being made by the people behind the project below:

If World of Tanks, StarCraft and League of Legends had a baby, it would be Victory.”
– Oksana Kubushyna, Victory Project Lead

We’ve already found the Victory prototype to be very fun to play, and we’re just getting started. Even though we have a legacy of making award-winning RTS games, it’s exciting to branch out into a new and different strategy gaming experience.”
 Chuck Kroegel, CEO

“We’re thrilled to be creating Victory for our fellow gamers, and that the project is on Kickstarter! We’ll be able to take in community feedback right from the start of the campaign. Thanks to crowdfunding, we have an incredible opportunity to bring this amazingly fun game to our backers and fans.”

Is Starhawk Overflowing with Noobs?

They need to work on all the noobs in the game, it’s just rediculous. All people do is get in hawks, pick up cluster and destroy your base and team over and over and they put on their shield. They dont even give you a chance to rebuild. Then the other half of their team are coming over in jetpacks jumping and shooting everyone with rocket launchers at the same time, do you know how hard it is to get out of that?

If it isn’t the hawks, it’s the tanks and their missiles, too many people hack with both vehicles and it makes the game very less enjoyable. I’m so sick of the noobs, especially that clan “Terror Squad” that’s all they do is noob in the game, no one in starhawk likes that clan!!

It’s bad enough i always end up on the crappiest team anyway, but the noobing needs to stop, LBI you guys really need to lower the power on those hawks and tanks or create more defensive strength for razorbacks, sidewinders and defensive structures. I really leave matches with tanks because they just always manage to flood your base
