RealGamerNewz Call of Duty Ghosts Gamescom

Basic overview was gone over once more and if you missed that last time here’s a few summarizing details:

  • Create-A-Soldier: Replaces Create-A-Class and makes a new way to approach who you are as a player. Made up of multiple components including Character Customization.
  • Unlock Weapons with Squad Points to purchase equipment in any order you want.
  • Perk System is balanced and more custom with more Perks. 8 Slots to divide between the Perks, but each has its own weighted amount (for example 1, 2, 3, 5 slot points for one perk depending on its strength). You can remove your secondary though to get even more perks.
  • Strike Packages: Assault, Support, Specialist; New Killstreaks mainly ground-based to prevent over-powered attacks.

More of that Info on these details can be found HERE as originally detailed by the first multiplayer reveal. You can also check out that first Livestream if you missed it in its entirety Here.

New Exclusive Info – Blitz Gameplay Mode:

For the first time ever at Gamescom 2013, we were shown the new Gameplay mode Blitz on new landscapes Chasm, Whiteout, and Strikeout. In Blitz, players will be like Capture the Flag however you get to teleport back to safety with running into a portal after you grab an objective deep inside the enemy player’s camp. There of course you’ll have to defend your base and a timer is set on the enemy base once a flag is capped so that things can’t get too ridiculous.

The 9-Bang: A Flashbang that can be cooked and it increases its effect the more you hold it. If you just hold it and run, it still serves as a normal Flashbang.

Some weapons have built-in silencers or other attachments for example the Honey Badger, that way they have a more unique identity.

Odin Strike is completely different depending on which map you are on. Field Order must be completed in order to gain this weapon. When you drop the Odin Strike it will change the map’s dynamics in a big way. On one map, for example, a Satellite falls from the sky and wrecks parts of the  map while also causing an EMP effect.

Second-Screen Mode: Apps detect if you’re in the middle of playing the game and allows you to start modifying your squads, change your gear, and interact with social media on the fly. Most importantly, the App will have Clan Wars in addition to Clan Chat and a lot of Clan Support. Clan Wars has a new map every month with different locations that tie into different game modes from the game. You are matched up against other clans with the same size and skill level that you must compete with by playing the Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer. By playing in your matches, the data is cumulatively tracked. Every play you make with your clan changes the standing of your clan. The Call of Duty App will be on iOS (phone/tablet), Android (phone/tablet), and Windows 8 (phone/tablet).

[UPDATED Rumor Confirmed]: Modern Warfare 4 is Call of Duty: Ghosts, Reveal Comes May 2013, PS4 / 720 / PC Only

[UPDATE: Call of Duty Ghosts has been confirmed by Activision today.]

A reliable insider at one of Activision’s Call of Duty teams has leaked information to YouTube Artist Drift0r who reveals that the expected Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will actually be titled Call of Duty: Ghosts and takes place in the future. It’s a new imprint similar to how Black Ops was formed as a new IP based on the COD universe. For those not looking forward to future weapons, turns out there will be current technology weapons in this title and there’s a “plot twist” that causes the characters in the future to use weapons from the “past” (read: our time, 2013ish weapons).

More details include an announcement in May 2013 for the game, the possibility of a release before the 2013 winter, and entirely new gameplay including dynamic loading screens where you sneak/break your way into a map instead of just loading up randomly into scenes on single player and multiplayer online. “Dash while sliding and shooting” is reportedly the gameplay function replacing the dreaded “Dolphin dive” that currently happens when you crouch while running.

Another detail revealed includes the ability to roll while laying down, deterring the need to stand up to move around while prone. Spec Ops mode will be replaced with a new function. Peaking around corners will be another addition to the controls, and it should be a welcome addition back to the genre as it originated on PC during the golden age of shooters Call of Duty I & II was born from. The ability to crash a killstreak helicopter into a building by destroying it with an RPG for example would result in the building it crashed into falling over and potentially killing people online. However, this particular feature hasn’t been worked out for multiplayer just yet, and may not be able to escape confinement to the single player campaign. The result of the gameplay experiments going on at Activision’s many camps remains to be seen in regard to many of the discussed gameplay functions and controls, but tell the general direction that they are heading in.

Perhaps the most shocking feature for some Call of Duty fans will be hearing from this rumor is that the title will NOT be on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 but instead will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4 and next generation Xbox (currently nicknamed Xbox 720 by hopeful Microsoft fans and the mainstream press, although it is said that this will not be the final name for the device rumored to be announced April 27th or around that date).

Keep it locked on RealGamerNewz.com as we continue to uncover the full details to all Nex Gen hits in the making.

Modern Warfare 4 Could Bring Back Killstreaks

With all of the recently spotted Modern Warfare 4 promotional campaigns surrounding an inevitable announcement from Activision themselves, Modern Warfare 4 hosts a body of work that could once again change the direction of the Call of Duty series. One of those changes that separates Treyarch’s latest Call of Duty: Black Ops II from the Modern Warfare series is the advent of the Scorestreak system which rewards players with extra attacks based on points per death rather than kills per death.

Modern Warfare 4 is likely to be heading to the game industry with its old Killstreak system, unless the Infinity Ward and Activision use Scorestreaks like Black Ops II. Allowing Modern Warfare 4 to bring back the Killstreak system many loved in previous Modern Warfare titles would give fans a chance to have it both ways. Scorestreaks on Black Ops II and Killstreaks on Modern Warfare 4.

This, of course, like any action that the Call of Duty developers take, is sure to bring much fan scrutiny and speculation. It depends on whether or not you would rather pick the Killstreak system over the Scorestreak system, and bring it back to the old style of playing Call of Duty online.

Call of Duty 9: Black Ops 2 Leaked In-Game Screenshots of Quadrotor, New Intel Drop Unlocks

Our buddies over at MP1st have been keeping up with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 very closely as fans of the Call of Duty franchise. Not only have they brought leaked in-game screenshots as of late but they’ve also broken down the codes Activision has been leaving to be deciphered in their major marketing campaign.

If you are a diehard COD fan then you will definitely want to take a look over at this page which also includes the Quadrotor being potentially confirmed as a real killstreak in the game. This also lines up well with the “near-future” theme that is being used with the Black Ops 2 game, seen in the video above. It is very likely that Acti was trolling us all along with the “FPSRussia” video.
